Rack of Lamb Recipe

Rack of lamb is a classic French dish that is made with tender and juicy cuts of lamb that are seasoned and then roasted to perfection. This dish is a perfect option for a special occasion or a fancy dinner party, and it is surprisingly easy to make at home. Here’s how to prepare this delicious and elegant dish.

Ingredients:

  • 1 rack of lamb, frenched (about 8-10 chops)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the lamb: In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Place the rack of lamb on the prepared baking sheet and brush the top and sides of the lamb with the olive oil mixture. Be sure to cover all sides of the lamb evenly with the mixture.
  3. Roast: Roast the lamb in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the lamb reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium rare. The cooking time will vary depending on the size of the rack of lamb, so be sure to check the lamb regularly to avoid overcooking it.
  4. Rest: Once the lamb is done cooking, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute and the flavors to settle, resulting in a more tender and juicy lamb.
  5. Serve: Serve the roasted rack of lamb hot with your favorite side dishes, such as roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad. Enjoy!
