Bangers and Mash Recipe

  • 8 pork sausages
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  1. Cook the sausages: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sausages to the skillet and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until browned on all sides and fully cooked.
  2. Make the onion gravy: Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside. Add the onion to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until soft and translucent. Stir in the butter and flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is golden brown. Gradually whisk in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce and bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  3. Make the mashed potatoes: Meanwhile, in a large pot, bring the potatoes to a boil in salted water. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are soft and tender. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes with the milk and unsalted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Finish the dish: Serve the sausages over a bed of mashed potatoes and spoon the onion gravy over the top. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and enjoy!
